While we’re on the subject of pumpkins (which is to say, pretty much any given moment you catch us between August and November), we’d like to take the time to reiterate a point near to our hearts: when it comes to pumpkin spice, we often like the pumpkin as front and center as the spice. Don’t get us wrong—we dearly love cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove in their own right, but when we want something pumpkin-y, we want something pump-kin-y. Something like Trader Joe’s Pumpkin & Spice Caramel Sauce (notice the Pumpkin & Spice, there).Each batch is made with rich, buttery, super sweet Caramel, familiar fall-evoking Spices (see above), and, crucially, enough puréed Pumpkin to impart the mild and nutty taste of Pumpkin itself. It’s a luxuriously thick dessert Sauce, ideal for drizzling over our Apple Pie À La Mode Ice Cream, Pumpkin Yogurt, Salted Almond Honey Granola—truly anything you wish to give a kick of Caramel, Pumpkin, & Spice. This is one of those items where your only limit is your imagination, though we’d happily suggest using it for coffee drinks, Pumpkin Sourdough French toast, or for dunking apple slices.
